How to skin Coyotes using compressed air

Now this is really cool! I suspect this may work on deer and other game as well.

Figured I would give this post a bump as a reminder for everyone now that the coyote hunting season is upon us.

I would be interested in any feedback from how this works in the field. Be sure to post your results!

Always enjoyed that idea of using compressed air to skin out a animal... Really slick idea...

If you are saving the pelts with the fur on for a coat or whatever, I'd be afraid that stretching the hide that much would cause fur loss. Other than that, for skinning a critter just to get to the meat, it sure looks quick. I'd like to see if it would work on a squirrel, they are not so much fun to skin.

Been using that method for deer and yotes for a few years now. A friend of mine made his own needles and it works super. I wouldn't try it on a frozen critter but the fresher and warmer the better it works.

I don't know of anyone in my area who buys them. I just shoot them. They are a scourge to most everything.

My neighbor is a huge trapper and coyote hunter and buys off anyone who wants to sell the whole animal. He has a nice skinning shack and buys from everyone. he was paying around 25 bucks apiece this winter as he was getting 30-35 apiece for the tanned and stretched hides. That season ended about 2 months ago now. After January the furs are not worth keeping as they start breeding season and rubbing and the spring thaw freeze cycles tear fur off them when they sit in the snow ect. Tears the gaurd hairs off.
